| She was a Wave Rider
and she didn't know it. She was one of the first. She wasted all those
years because no one figured it out. No one recognized she was among
the first to evolve. No one knew what to do. They were awed by her
intelligence and yet they drugged her to stop the flow of information
she was receiving. They called her depressed - bi-polar and she believed
them. She became anti-social and paranoid and withdrew from everyone
she loved. She believed they could not help. She did not know what
to do. She died alone in a room empty of memories, with barren walls
and a bed that never looked slept in. We could have helped her - now
that we know. We could have honored her gifts. She could not recognize
that her only fault was that she flew too close to the sun and plummeted
to the ground from burn out. Unable to accurately recognize what was
happening in her world, she became disabled. Because we could not
tell her how to harness her experience, her energy - we lost her.
The world lost her laugh, her smile and her insights. She was intelligent,
witty and beautiful - she had it all and it wasn't enough - a twisted
type of torture. To have it all yet be unable to enjoy it, unable
to feel it and unable to see it. |

Creative Minds on the Rise
...Why is this up and down state of emotion (chemical imbalance)
so prevalent today? Is it a symptom or is it something else? Is
it a gift that we simply do not know how to handle? Is it the outcome
of extended periods of stress, or is it a natural part of evolution…
a tweaking of the brain? How many people do you know that suffer
from depression or dramatic surges of high and low energy? A conversation
hardly goes very far before someone tells me that they are on medication
for depression and so is their child. News reports on Bi-polar children
are everywhere - can they all be depressed? When we look at depression
as a part of evolution and learn to work with it in a more positive
light, we find that there are many benefits to being a Wave Rider.
Wave Riders can learn to do more than just survive. They can harness
the power that surges through them and direct it toward their goals,
without burning out. Throughout this book we will discuss ways to
enjoy your gifts and honor who you are. You too can learn to ride
the Wave - Become a better surfer You can kick the habit of depression.
You are, after all, "Gifted and not Damaged".
From: Realization
... For over 30 years, I dreamed of finding a cure for the disease
that took my mother. I watched as friends fell into depression and
I listened as children lost their lives to suicide, driven by depression.
I could not find anything that seemed to help remove the grey curtain
that would shroud the vision of the Bi-polar depressed mind. I thought
many times of giving up and many times, I felt my strength diminish
and hope disappear. But dying I decided would be have to be for
another day.
One morning, while feeling absolutely fed up, after a particularly
bad lower emotional state and a painful physical injury - I just
gave up. I gave up trying to be more than I could be and I began
to breathe, finally at peace with my state, and without a negative
thought. Once I released the control I was attempting to have over
my life I began to observe my thought patterns and the corresponding
depression that kept tormenting me. Instead of being a participant
in the roller coaster of depression, I peacefully became the observer
of my reactions to the experiences (good and bad) around me. I began
to notice the patterns in my depressed behavior. I even noticed
the physical changes in my eyesight during both the upper cycle
and lower cycle of depression. It was while I observed these physical
occurrences that the thought came to me, actually a single alteration
of thought - a realization! All this time, I had been searching
for a cure to a disease. What might have caused this up and down
state of emotion? What if this up and down state was NOT a disease?
What if the chemical
imbalance is supposed to be there? What if it is simply that
our minds have been changing to accept higher creativity and a higher
state of awakening? Bi-polar depression is definitely becoming more
common. What if the intense clarity experienced during the surge
of emotion and energy commonly experienced by people often diagnosed
as Bi-polar and occasionally experienced by people with lesser forms
of depression was, in fact, just our minds adjusting to our quest
for spirituality? What if more and more minds were taking on this
form of evolution, using a greater portion of the creative side
that made the insane genius of the past? What if we have changed
- but we don't know how to harness the energy that came with the
change? What if we were given a GIFT but no one gave us the MANUAL?
